Protecting the heritage, character and community of Bibury.
Bibury Heritage is a resident-led charity working to safeguard the village’s historic beauty, support local life, and address the growing pressures facing our community. Our goal is simple: to ensure Bibury remains a living, thriving village for generations to come.

Charitable Status

Bibury Heritage is a recently formed charity pursuing registration as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission. Accordingly our governing document is derived from the Commission’s foundation model.
Our charitable objectives are for the benefit of both the Bibury community and parish and the visiting public. They outline a clear, comprehensive vision for present and future generations of both villagers and visitors:
-
To conserve, protect and enhance the architectural and historical heritage and essential character of Bibury, including the Bibury Conservation Area;
-
To conserve, protect and enhance the natural environment and open spaces within the village;
-
To advocate for sustainable tourism, addressing the challenges of over-tourism and ensuring Bibury’s special character is preserved for current and future generations;
-
To advance education about the heritage, cultural and environmental significance of Bibury;
-
To pursue other exclusively charitable purposes aligned with these aims, as determined by the Trustees.
